The CCA Semi-Annual Meeting brings together producers and industry affiliates for networking, entertainment, information sessions and policy setting. Following the success of the inaugural Canadian Beef Industry Conference (CBIC) in 2016, the CCA Semi-Annual will remain part of this one-of-a-kind event for the foreseeable future. Part of the National Beef Strategy, the CBIC brings together the semi-annual and annual meetings of several key stakeholder groups, along with learning and networking opportunities to create a unique experience for all participants, regardless of their connection to the Canadian beef industry. The CBIC will remain in Calgary in 2017.
This is just the latest evolution of the CCA Semi-Annual Meeting. Traditionally the event was held in a different region of Canada each year. However, from 2010 through 2012, the CCA Semi-Annual Meeting and Convention partnered with the International Livestock Congress (ILC) in Calgary in order to enhance the opportunity for youth and industry leaders to network. In 2013, the CCA Semi-Annual resumed its travelling schedule, with the meetings in London, Ontario, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (2014), and Winnipeg, Manitoba (2015).
