The CCA continues to be involved in conversations around how to make Canada’s Species at Risk Act (SARA) legislation more suitable for the agriculture industry and the many species that survive on agricultural land. There has been some movement on discussing/drafting regulation and policy for SARA which could prove promising for the cattle industry. The CCA has been engaged in advising on how to engage working landscapes in the Federal Government's National Conservation Plan (NCP). A timeline for moving the NCP forward has not been set.
