Select the Right Product

Federally licensed and approved for use in cattle in Canada.

Avoid "home-made brews".

Ensure the product is available when you need it (inventory control).

Discuss with your herd veterinarian the effectiveness of the product for the condition you wish to use it for.

Evaluate cost relative to similar effective products for disease condition.

Ease of use. Try and select long-acting products to reduce the number of injections, handling of cattle, and expenses associated with labor. If available, select products that can be used subcutaneously according to label directions.

Examine withdrawal period and select products with 0 days withdrawal time in cattle close to slaughter.

Select low volume dosage, tissue friendly products whenever possible.
