Keep Records

Records are essential to ensure residue free beef and to describe and monitor herd health and production in a feedlot.

Records must be permanent and stored safely. Computerized records are essential in large feedlots for ease of use and analysis of data to determine present status and changes needed to improve health and production efficiency.

Treatment records should include animal identification, date, disease or condition, weight, temperature, drug used, dosage, route, injection site, outcome, and crew responsible for treating and diagnosing animal.

Similar records should be kept for processing information.
