Facilities:

Animals

Handling facilities, including processing and treatment areas, feeding pens, and worker washrooms are designed properly, cleaned, and maintained for cattle and worker safety.

Processing and treatment facilities have access to water for sanitation.

Mixing of sick cattle from different pens is minimized so as to reduce spread of disease and use of antimicrobials.

Dead animals are disposed of by rendering, burial, composting or burning according to provincial government legislation.

Design examples of proper restraining and processing facilities.
