Canada’s beef industry and its relationship with Hong Kong

Before the market closures due to Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE), Hong Kong was Canada’s tenth largest export market in 2002. That year alone, Hong Kong imported 625 tonnes of Canadian beef - worth $2.9 million.
