Zoetis joins CYL as a Foundation Partner

Calgary, AB – The Cattlemen’s Young Leaders (CYL) program is pleased to announce Zoetis as its newest Foundation Partner. Through this partnership, the global animal health company, already dedicated to supporting veterinarians, animal producers and their businesses, is now supporting the next generation of Canadian beef producers.

Zoetis will enrich the knowledge and experiences of CYL program participants through providing opportunities to learn more about livestock welfare and health management in concert with experiences that develop valuable leadership skills.

Canadian Cattlemen’s Association (CCA) Youth Leadership Coordinator, Emily Ritchie, said the CYL program is excited for the enhanced benefits that the new partnership will bring to the youth mentorship program. “Zoetis will add another dimension to the CYL experience,” she said. “We have had such great support from the packing, food service, business and supply side of the cattle industry, and now with the animal health element being added, the CYL program is able to offer exposure to the entire beef value chain, resulting in an increasingly well-rounded program experience.”

Zoetis looks forward to engaging with the young leaders throughout the year, said Julian Garcia, Business Unit Director for Cattle/Equine/Genetics at Zoetis. “Zoetis is excited to partner with CYL as it aligns with our objective of developing young leaders in agriculture,” he said. Moving forward, Zoetis will join the CYL program’s other Foundation Partners by being part of the selection process, Spring Forum and mentor selections.

The CYL program looks forward to utilizing Zoetis’ knowledge base and network to build a stronger beef industry across Canada.

Zoetis joins Foundation Partners, Cargill, UFA, McDonalds and MNP in ensuring that the CYL program continues to develop young members of the beef industry into experts and champions of Canadian beef cattle production.
