CCA supports exploration of free trade agreement with Japan

Calgary, AB – The Canadian Cattlemen’s Association (CCA) is pleased with International Trade Minister Peter Van Loan’s announcement today that the Government of Canada is launching a scoping study to explore the viability of a free trade agreement with Japan.

“Full and free access to the Japanese market is a very high priority for the Canadian beef industry,” said CCA President Travis Toews. “The CCA strongly supports the initiation of this exploration study and we are hopeful that the process will eventually lead to Canadian beef reaching its potential in Japan.”
