CCA pleased with restored access to Peru for Canadian beef

Calgary, AB – The Canadian Cattlemen’s Association (CCA) is pleased with today’s Government of Canada announcement regarding the re-opening of Peru for Canadian beef. Effective immediately, Peru has approved the importation from Canada of all beef and offals from cattle under 30 months of age, plus boneless beef and offals from cattle over 30 months of age.

Since the closure of nearly all of Canada’s beef export markets in 2003, the CCA has worked with the Government of Canada to re-open markets. As a result of these efforts, including the tireless efforts and international travel by Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz and International Trade Minister Ed Fast, we are now approaching 70 countries that have either fully or partially re-established access for Canadian beef.
