Terms and Conditions of Funding

Dissemination of Funds for Proposed Projects

The CCMDC will submit the funds allocated for projects to the organization of the project leader upon receipt and approval of invoices for eligible expenditures and the final project report.

Timeframe for Projects

The intent of the Alberta International Beef Marketing Development Fund is to provide foundation funds for the initial development of marketing initiatives that support the maintenance and development of export markets for the Canadian beef and cattle genetics industry, including value-added products. Consequently the timeframe for projects is expected to reflect the development phase of marketing initiatives, with the intention that the implementation of long term strategies will be managed within an individual company or organization. Funding projects is dependent on satisfactory reporting of progress toward meeting the milestones of the project.

For marketing initiatives where ongoing support is required to continue moving forward, after the implementation phase is completed, applicants will be directed to apply for funding through the appropriate marketing organization (Beef Information Centre, Canada Beef Export Federation, or Canadian Beef Breeds Council).

Matching Funds

Applications received under the Alberta International Beef Marketing Development Fund must demonstrate that the applicant company or organization will contribute a minimum of 50 percent of the amount of the total funding required for the project. Under specific circumstances, the Alberta fund portion may be increased to 75 per cent with the applicant contributing 25 per cent.

Budgets of proposals are required to show the TOTAL funding required for the project and to breakdown this amount into that requested from the CCMDC, the amount that is requested from other sources, and the amount being contributed by the company or organization applying for funding.
