Agricultural Awareness Partnership
The Climate Change Action Fund (CCAF) Agriculture Awareness Partnership was a three-year project to increase the awareness of GHG issues and solutions among producers and the public. It was a partnership of agricultural and conservation groups dedicated to promoting sustainable practices related to GHG mitigation in the agriculture industry.
The Partnership was funded by the Government of Canada’s Climate Change Action Fund, which was established in 1998 to help Canada meet its commitments under the Kyoto Protocol.
Partner groups included:
- Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration (PFRA) Shelterbelt Centre
- CCA
- Canadian Federation of Agriculture (CFA)
- Eastern Canada Soil & Water Conservation Centre (ECSWCC)
- Soil Conservation Council of Canada (SCCC)
Each group played a unique role within the partnership and brought particular expertise to the table.

Goals
- Increase awareness of producers and the general public of GHG issues and solutions relative to the agrifood industry.
- Build and strengthen the national network or organizations, agencies, and institutions that can contribute to agricultural solutions to GHG issues.
- Identify and promote Best Management Practices (BMPs).
