Regulations Affecting Producers

There are regulations to govern virtually every aspect of beef production in Canada. Producers must factor regulatory compliance into their management plans but they can also ensure their opinions are heard by participating in the public comment process on any regulation. All regulations are published for comment before becoming official to provide Canadians with the opportunity to comment on proposed regulations published in the Canada Gazette. The CCA encourages producers to participate in the public comment process.

Staying Informed
The CCA strives to keep producers informed with the latest important information through Action News, Industry Updates, News Releases and Headlines and on Twitter @cdncattlemen. Interested parties can keep current with government business by visiting the House of Commons Committee homepage.

The House of Commons Committees’ homepage features links to various parliamentary committees for the current session and reports of interest, which includes hearing minutes where CCA appeared.

From the homepage, you can get direct access to the website of a particular committee by choosing the appropriate four-letter acronym found in parentheses beside the committee name and insert it into the following address:

www.parl.gc.ca/ACRONYM-e
(e.g.: www.parl.gc.ca/FINA-e)

Please note that these URLs will function for the current session only.

The Government of Canada’s Consulting with Canadians website offers a single window access to a list of consultations from selected government departments and agencies.
